Nuvera Communications is a leading Minnesota broadband provider headquartered in New Ulm, MN. Nuvera’s state-of-the-art fiber network provides reliable and affordable residential internet service through both fiber-to-the neighborhoods and newly expanding Gig-speed fiber-to-the-home services. Nuvera also provides business services including fiber internet, voice, hosting, and managed services. Responsible for overall maintenance and operations of Nuvera’s access networks, DC power, and SONET networks, both hardware and software. The most important impact is to provide quality service to our customers.
The position will include:
- Installation and maintenance of our access networks which includes the following equipment: ADTRAN TA Series, Calix OCCAM, Cambium Fixed Wireless, Calix E-Series, and CATV platforms. Maintenance includes monitoring capacity, software, and firmware upgrades
- Installation and maintenance of SONET gear including all types of low-band and high-band circuit
- Configuration and support of CPE equipment
- Installation and maintenance of DC power systems
- Routine preventative maintenance
The following skills and experience are preferred but not required:
- 2-year degree (Networking Services or related degree)
- 6-years relevant experience (project management, telecommunications, network, IT, electrical)
- Power Limited Technician License (Registered, unlicensed) (Can be obtained after hire)
- Other training desirable for this position; DSLAM Training, Cisco CCENT or CCNA, and DC power
