virtual valentines dayIt might be tricky to show your friends and family how much you love them on Valentine’s Day in the era of COVID-19 but there are plenty of fun virtual options to share the love with those near and far when you can’t get together in person. Here are just a few ideas

Virtual Valentine’s Day Cards – Remember how fun it was to exchange those Valentine’s Day Cards back in elementary school? The excitement of opening each one? With just a few clicks, you can send anyone a virtual Valentine’s Day card. A quick Google search will bring up lots of free options. Want to make it more personal? Record and send your loved one a video message via text or email.

Virtual Date Night – How does dinner and a movie sound? You and your honey can each pick up dinner and enjoy each other’s company virtually while you “share” your meal. Better yet, make dinner together over a Zoom or FaceTime call, or take a virtual cooking class together. Then pick out a movie you’ve both been dying to see and watch it together when you host a “Watch Party,” available through most streaming services like Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon Prime.

Make a Playlist – Those of us of a certain age will remember when making a “mixed tape” for our special someone back in the 80s or 90s was the ultimate way to show you cared. Today, you can put together all your favorite or meaningful songs on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Pandora and more. Send your significant other, a family member or a friend a list of songs that shows them how much they are loved.

Galentine’s Day – Let’s not forget about the girlfriends on Galentine’s Day, February 13! Depending on your gal friends and their preferences, a virtual tea party or happy hour is a great way to connect and have some fun. A virtual scavenger hunt, a game of Among Us, or just an hour or two of chatting and laughing is just the ticket to connect and celebrate the girlfriends in your life.

These are just a few suggestions but thanks to virtual options more plentiful than they’ve ever been, connecting with someone on Valentine’s Day – or any day – is super easy and fun.
