Nuvera Gig City Fiber Internet Project Construction Expands Into More Prior Lake Neighborhoods

Nuvera’s $14 million infrastructure project aims to meet growing demand

Prior Lake, Minnesota (June 21, 2023) –Nuvera Communications, Inc. (OTC: NUVR) a diversified communications company, has started the second year of construction for the Nuvera Gig City Fiber infrastructure project in Prior Lake.

Nuvera’s infrastructure investment in Prior Lake is estimated at around $14 million dollars. The company expects to reach 6,400 Prior Lake customers by the fall. The multi-year project will expand into more neighborhoods next year.

Nuvera crews are currently working across the community to install main fiber lines and connect fiber directly to customer’s homes in The Wilds and Willows neighborhoods, and also the Sand Point and Fairlawn areas.

Nuvera Gig City Neighborhood Construction Information

• Construction work markings: Nuvera will be placing main fiber lines throughout the community and connecting service directly to existing customers’ homes. Nuvera will mark right-of-way areas where work is occurring with flags or paint. This indicates where fiber lines will be placed. All flags and markings will be removed once work is complete.
• Restoration of property: Once construction is complete, restoration of property is a key priority for Nuvera. Restoration happens as a two-step process:
  • Step one: Ensure the construction area is safe by filling holes with sand. This allows time for settling before final restoration.
  • Step two: Work crews return and complete the site restoration after construction is complete. The final restoration includes filling the impacted areas with black dirt/topsoil and grass seed.
• Service to customers: All existing Nuvera customers will migrate to the new fiber network. Nuvera is communicating directly with customers on steps we’re taking to connect the fiber network to their home.
